What is the “Apps” Screen?

The “Apps” screen provides a visual dashboard where you can:

  • Upload new APK or IPA files
  • List all available APK/IPA files
  • Re-use previously uploaded apps
  • Delete apps that are no longer needed

It serves as a file manager and build version control system for the apps under test.

Where to Find It?

  1. Launch your Appium Device Farm Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the “Apps” tab from the top menu.
  3. Here, you’ll see a list of all previously uploaded apps with all information

How to Add APK/IPA Files:

  1. Click on the “Upload App” button

2. Select your file:

  • .apk for Android apps
  • .ipa for iOS apps

3. “Upload Apps/Assets” popup with ‘Drag & Drop’ & ‘Click to select a file’ options

4. Select the apk/ipa to upload.

Observe that App has been upload successfully & provided App Capability — app:file-1753275444424.apk


App List Information

Each entry in the Apps screen typically shows:

  1. App Name — Name of apk file
  2. Platform — android/iOS icon
  3. File Size — Size of apk/ipa file
  4. Uploaded Date — Date of the Upload
  5. Automation FileName — Devicefarm given name to the apk/ipa

Example: file-1753275444424.apk

6. Action — Link to remove the file

How to Remove APK/IPA Files:

  1. Go to the Apps screen.
  2. Click “Remove”.

Caution: Once deleted, the app cannot be used in future test runs unless re-uploaded.
